MOST TRADERS WAIT FOR THE MARKET TO MOVE. THEN THEY REACT.
We take the opposite approach.
We forecast key market dates and Time Cycles before the move happens — then let the market prove or disprove the forecast.
PRICE ANALYSIS ASKS WHERE. TIME ANALYSIS ASKS WHEN.
Technical analysis remains an important part of what we do. But it isn't what makes Kohnut different.
Our approach to market timing is built around three unconventional areas of research
THE RESEARCH DIDN’T START WITH US
WE DIDN’T INVENT THE IDEA OF TIME IN MARKETS.
For decades, researchers, financial institutions and independent academics have explored whether time, cycles, environmental phenomena and natural rhythms have measurable relationships with financial markets.
Kohnut does not claim that these studies prove our methodology.
They show something simpler:
THE QUESTION ITSELF IS NOT NEW.
01 · FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF ATLANTA
GEOMAGNETIC STORMS & STOCK MARKETS
Playing the Field: Geomagnetic Storms and the Stock Market
Working Paper 2003-5b · October 2003 Researchers Anna Krivelyova and Cesare Robotti
examined whether geomagnetic activity was associated with stock-market behaviour.
Their study reported that unusually high geomagnetic activity was followed by statistically and economically significant effects on U.S. stock returns, while quieter geomagnetic periods were associated with higher returns internationally.
Royal Bank of Scotland published equity research examining whether different phases of the lunar cycle showed relationships with historical equity-market performance.
The report tested lunar-cycle strategies across markets including the S&P 500, FTSE 100, DAX, EURO STOXX 50, Hang Seng and CAC 40.
Solar Influences on Financial Markets: Toward Smarter Investment Decisions Across Indices
Warren Wai Tong Kam · Current Draft: 19 March 2025
This independent research examined sunspot activity against the Hang Seng Index, S&P 500 ETF, NASDAQ Composite and Dow Jones Industrial Average across daily, monthly and yearly timeframes.
The study reported significant negative correlations across several periods and lead-lag relationships, while clearly acknowledging that correlation alone does not establish causation.
Kohnut Time Trading draws from multiple research methods. But you do not need all three pillars at once to begin understanding how Time Cycles work.
Some traders start with one lens. Others combine two. Advanced users may study all three together.
What matters is learning how time can be analysed — not trying to master everything on day one.
THE 3 PILLARS OF TIME ANALYSIS
Financial Astrology
Planetary cycles and celestial geometry applied to market timing research.
Dimension Analysis
Multi-dimensional market structure analysis across time and price axes.
Harmonics & Vibration Analysis
Mathematical harmonic patterns and cyclical wave analysis for timing precision.

Somewhere between all of that came years of independent research, the first Kohnut students, a regulated financial career, and a return to Australia under very different circumstances.
And through everything, one question refused to disappear.

YOUR STORY COULD BE NEXT
DON’T TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT. LOOK AT THE RESEARCH YOURSELF.
QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD PROBABLY ASK BEFORE TRUSTING US
IF THIS REALLY WORKS, WHY ARE YOU TEACHING IT?+
Fair question.
If I had found something valuable, kept it secret and disappeared, nobody would question that.
But here’s the interesting part: over the years, Kohnut has attracted traders, researchers and genuinely curious people who came because they wanted to understand markets differently.
And when curious people start comparing observations, testing ideas and challenging each other, more gets discovered.
I’ve learned a great deal from the people who came through Kohnut too — from the questions they asked, the patterns they noticed and the knowledge they brought with them.
In fact, part of my own professional journey began through a connection who first entered this world simply as another curious researcher.
So for me, teaching was never only about passing knowledge in one direction.
Kohnut became a place where research could compound through people.
The strange part is this: the more I taught, the more I learned.
The more people joined the research, the more there was to discover.
Kohnut stopped being just a course. It became the research network.
WHY SHOULD I BELIEVE YOU?+
You shouldn’t — at least not simply because we tell you to.
That’s why we show dated posts, original posting timestamps, screenshots, research references, student experiences and historical examples wherever possible.
In fact, we want you to challenge us.
That’s one of the reasons our public channel is open and free.
Go all the way back to the beginning — 19 November 2020, 16:40 — and work forward from there.
Check when something was posted.
Compare the forecast with what actually happened.
Question the methodology.
Look for the misses as well as the hits.
And if something doesn’t add up, call us out.
VERIFY EVERYTHING WE CLAIM.
We would rather have someone challenge the research and arrive at their own conclusion than believe us blindly.
DON’T TRUST KOHNUT. VERIFY KOHNUT.
ISN’T “TIME TRADING” JUST ASTROLOGY WITH A FANCY NAME?+
No.
Financial Astrology is one part of what we study, but Time Analysis goes much further — including cycles, dimensions, harmonics, geometry, price relationships and other forms of market research. Some students barely use astrology at all.
And the research is still ongoing.
New relationships, models and methods continue to emerge as we test ideas across different markets and work with other researchers.
We don’t pretend we’ve discovered everything.
Kohnut is an evolving body of research — not a finished rulebook.
IS KOHNUT A NON-PROFIT ORGANISATION?+
Legally, no. Kohnut is a commercial education and research business.
But the programs were never designed to be Max’s primary source of personal income.
The fees we collect help fund the work around Kohnut — advertising, events and venue costs, accounting and taxes, research, development, the membership platform, hosting, technology and day-to-day operations.
At the same time, a significant amount of our research, market discussion, education and community activity remains publicly available without charge.
We charge because running all of this costs money.
Max’s main personal income comes from his own trading and his professional work in the regulated financial industry.
Kohnut exists because he wants the research and community to keep growing — not because he needs to sell courses to make a living.
But that still isn’t the real reason he started teaching.
That reason is much more personal.
SO WHY DID MAX START KOHNUT IN THE FIRST PLACE?+
The real reason is very personal.
Long before Kohnut existed, Max was simply another retail trader trying to learn.
He had joined a trading education program after being introduced to the educator through the seminar circuit, including Success Resources.
What caught Max’s attention was one particular claim:
That markets could be studied — and even anticipated — through Time.
That idea stayed in his head.
Max thought:
“If this person can really do it, then there must be a way to figure out how.”
So Max started researching it for himself.
There was no research team. No financial institution behind him. No group of professional traders.
There was just Max, his own curiosity, and some classmates from the same program.
Max would study an idea, test something on the charts, notice a possible relationship and share what he was discovering with his classmates.
Someone else would have another idea.
Another classmate might notice something completely different.
Nobody had the complete answer.
They were simply students trying to understand something they had been told was possible.
What made it even more frustrating was that Time Trading was the very reason Max had become interested in the program in the first place.
Yet in Max’s experience, despite the claims around being able to anticipate markets through Time, he was never actually taught a Time Trading methodology that he could study, test and apply for himself.
That unanswered question only made him more curious.
If it really could be done, Max wanted to know how.
So he kept researching.
Then word of Max’s independent research and the discussions with his classmates eventually reached the person behind the original program.
And the situation changed.
Max felt that instead of his curiosity being encouraged, his independent research was treated as a threat.
He was accused of taking material that did not belong to him and threatened with legal action.
But that wasn’t the part that affected him most.
Personal information involving Max and his girlfriend at the time — the woman who is now his wife — was brought publicly into the dispute in front of more than a thousand other students.
She wasn't a trader.
She wasn't researching markets.
She wasn't part of the disagreement.
She had absolutely nothing to do with it.
And for Max, that crossed a line.
You can disagree with him.
You can challenge his research.
You can tell him every idea he has is wrong.
But you do not drag an innocent member of his family into a trading dispute she had nothing to do with.
And remember, Max wasn't a professional trader or fund manager back then.
He wasn't working inside the financial industry.
He was just another student.
That experience lit a fire.
Max made himself a promise:
“IF I EVER FIGURE THIS OUT, I WILL ACTUALLY TEACH IT.”
Not simply say that Time matters.
Not sell people the mystery of knowing something they cannot access.
Not leave students permanently dependent on the person claiming to have the answer.
Actually teach it.
Break down the methods.
Show the work.
Allow students to test it.
Allow people to challenge it.
And if someone discovers something better, learn from them too.
That promise alone could have eventually led to Kohnut.
But then Max had another experience that reinforced it even further.
Years later, Max entered the professional financial world and eventually worked as a professional trader and fund manager.
One of those experiences ended up in court.
Max was not the person being prosecuted. He appeared in proceedings involving his former boss, who was later sentenced to Six years 8 months in prison.
That experience changed the way Max looked at retail trading permanently.
Because by then, he had seen both sides.
He knew what it felt like to be the ordinary retail trader outside the industry — buying programs, listening to people presented as experts and trying to figure out who could actually be trusted.
And later, he saw what the financial world could look like from the inside.
What disturbed him most was how little many ordinary retail traders actually knew about the environment they were putting their money into.
People can risk their savings while knowing remarkably little about the businesses, personalities and systems surrounding their money.
They may not know what questions to ask.
They may not know how to verify someone's claims.
They may not understand the difference between education, marketing, financial advice and actual professional financial activity.
And sometimes people only discover those differences after something has already gone wrong.
That reinforced Max’s original promise.
Kohnut couldn't just be another place teaching people how to enter trades.
It had to encourage people to become harder to fool.
QUESTION THE CLAIM.
CHECK THE EVIDENCE.
DO THE RESEARCH.
UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE PARTICIPATING IN.
That is also why Max doesn't want students blindly believing Kohnut.
Challenge us.
Check our timestamps.
Go back through the old forecasts.
Find the winners.
Find the failures too.
Question the methodology.
Ask why something worked.
Ask why something didn't.
And if something doesn't add up, call us out.
Because Kohnut ultimately grew from two experiences Max never forgot:
First, what it felt like to be an ordinary student whose curiosity was treated like a threat.
And later,
what it felt like to see from inside the financial industry just how vulnerable ordinary retail traders can be when they don't know enough.
Kohnut wasn't created because Max wanted to become another trading guru.
And to be clear, Max does not see himself as a guru.
At heart, he is a market researcher — driven by curiosity, questions, and the constant need to understand how markets really work.
The curiosity came first.
Teaching came later.
Kohnut was created because Max remembers exactly what it felt like to be the student sitting on the other side — trying to learn, trying to understand, and trying to work out who could actually be trusted.
And years ago, Max made himself a promise:
IF HE EVER FIGURED OUT HOW TO STUDY TIME IN THE MARKETS, HE WOULD ACTUALLY TEACH IT.
Not hide it behind mystery.
Not simply tell people it exists.
Not make people dependent on the person claiming to know the answer.
Actually teach it.
Break it down.
Show the work.
Let people test it.
Let people challenge it.
Let the research keep evolving.
Because that is what Max wished someone had done for him when he was still just another student trying to figure it all out.
KOHNUT IS HIM KEEPING THAT PROMISE.
IS THIS A SIGNAL SERVICE?+
No.
You may see market forecasts, trade discussions, historical examples and, at times, Max sharing what he is personally trading.
But Kohnut is fundamentally an education and research platform.
When Max shares his own trades, that is not a signal, recommendation or instruction for you to copy the trade.
It is simply transparency around how he is applying the research himself.
His risk, capital, timing and personal circumstances may be completely different from yours.
We do not provide personalised financial advice or tell you what you personally should buy or sell.
Observe the research. Understand the reasoning. Make your own decisions.
CAN A COMPLETE BEGINNER ACTUALLY LEARN THIS?+
Yes.
And strangely enough, a complete beginner may sometimes have an advantage.
Because there is nothing to unlearn.
No conflicting systems.
No collection of half-understood strategies.
No years of habits that first have to be dismantled before something new can be built.
We can start from the foundation and build upward.
That said, let us be clear about who Kohnut was primarily built for.
Our main audience has traditionally been professional traders and retail traders with around two years or more of market experience.
Not because beginners are incapable of learning it.
But because what we teach is not designed to be consumed in a weekend.
THIS IS NOT A 2-DAY COURSE YOU FINISH AND FORGET.
The foundation alone can take approximately 2–4 days.
The core prediction frameworks can take another 4–6 days.
The more advanced Time work — including Financial Astrology and deeper timing methodologies — can require approximately 8–10 additional days.
And after all of that?
You have learned the material.
You have not mastered it.
There is an important difference.
WEEKS TO LEARN.
MONTHS TO PRACTISE.
YEARS TO MASTER.
If that sounds like too much work, Kohnut may genuinely not be the right program for you.
We would rather tell you that before you join.
Because Kohnut was never designed for someone searching for another three-step strategy to try next Monday.
It is for the person who looks at markets and thinks:
“There is more happening here. I want to understand it.”
And the learning does not simply stop when your scheduled classes end.
Students can re-attend the classes, and so far we have allowed this without additional charges.
Students who complete the full program continue to see new research, discoveries, developments and ideas as the work evolves.
And perhaps more importantly, the community is still there.
People continue comparing observations.
Testing ideas.
Challenging assumptions.
Sharing discoveries.
Sometimes something taught during your first month only truly makes sense six months later when you finally see it unfold in a live market.
Then you go back.
You watch it again.
And suddenly you understand what you couldn't see the first time.
THAT IS WHY WE USE THE WORD “COMMITMENT.”
Not because we expect you to sit in a classroom forever.
Because the deeper you go into markets, the more you realise there is always another question.
Another relationship.
Another cycle.
Another idea worth testing.
The classes have an ending.
THE RESEARCH DOESN'T.
So yes — a complete beginner can learn Kohnut.
You don't need years of experience before walking through the door.
But you do need something more important:
curiosity, patience and the willingness to keep learning after the excitement of the first few weeks is gone.
If you're looking for a shortcut, there are easier programs to buy.
If you're looking for something you may still be studying years from now—
WELCOME TO KOHNUT.
WHAT DO I ACTUALLY GET ACCESS TO AS A STUDENT?+
Most courses sell you information.
You watch it.
You finish it.
And eventually, much of it becomes outdated.
KOHNUT WAS NEVER BUILT THAT WAY.
When you become a student, you are not simply being given access to a folder of videos.
You are being given access to an evolving body of research — and to the people still working on it.
That distinction matters.
Because markets change.
Research develops.
And sometimes the person who understood only 20% of a lesson the first time comes back six months later and suddenly sees what they were missing.
So we built Kohnut around the ability to return.
Students can revisit the recorded classes.
They can also re-attend the live classes, and so far we have allowed students to do this without additional charges.
But there is another important difference.
YOU MAY NOT COME BACK TO EXACTLY THE SAME CLASS.
Our teaching material is continually updated as the research develops.
The foundations remain the foundations.
But new discoveries, better examples, refinements and newer research are incorporated into the classes at the appropriate level.
So sometimes coming back isn't simply revision.
YOU ARE RETURNING TO A MORE DEVELOPED VERSION OF THE KNOWLEDGE.
And then there is something recordings cannot give you.
PROXIMITY.
From time to time, students can watch Max analyse and trade the markets live.
Not a trade selected afterwards because it looked good.
A live market.
A live decision.
A real outcome.
Sometimes it works.
Sometimes the market does something unexpected.
And you get to see both.
Max may share what he personally chooses to trade, but whether you trade anything yourself is entirely your decision.
Watching Max trade is not a signal to copy him.
The value is being able to observe how the research is applied when nobody yet knows what the next candle will do.
Then there is the research itself.
Students who complete the full program continue to see new discoveries, developments, refinements and ideas as the work progresses.
Because graduating from Kohnut does not mean the research suddenly stops.
THE RESEARCH DOESN'T CARE THAT YOUR COURSE HAS ENDED.
And neither does the community.
Students continue comparing ideas.
Challenging assumptions.
Testing relationships.
Sharing observations.
Sometimes a student finds something interesting.
Sometimes Max does.
Sometimes someone outside Kohnut knows far more about a particular subject than any of us.
And when that happens?
WE BRING THEM IN.
From time to time, we invite guest speakers, specialists and other educators when their knowledge can genuinely add something to the community.
Sometimes those sessions exist because students themselves asked for them.
We don't need Max to pretend he knows everything.
We would rather find the person who does.
There are also occasional community activities, sponsored events and separately gated events.
Some may be supported by sponsors.
Some may have additional venue or participation costs.
All of them are optional.
And finally, there is something increasingly rare in online education:
MAX IS ACTUALLY THERE.
He remains active inside the student groups.
If there is a genuine question, problem or something that requires his attention, students can reach him directly.
That doesn't mean 24-hour personal support.
It means something simpler:
the person doing the research has not disappeared behind a customer-service desk.
So what are you really getting?
Not just classes.
Not just recordings.
Not just a membership portal.
You are getting access to:
the knowledge,
the updates,
the live application,
the people,
the conversations,
the research,
and the ability to return as your own understanding grows.
That is why we don't think of Kohnut as something you simply “finish.”
A COURSE HAS AN END DATE.
A BODY OF RESEARCH DOESN'T.
And if you stay curious enough—
neither does your education.
WILL I GET THE SAME RESULTS AS THE STUDENTS SHOWN ABOVE?+
No one can promise you that.
And if someone does, you should probably start asking harder questions.
The results shown on this page are examples shared by individual students.
They show what has happened.
They do not tell you what will happen to you.
Over the years, some students have reported recovering an amount equivalent to their course fee through their own trading within a few months.
A smaller number have told us they did it much faster — in some cases within weeks.
We have even had rare cases where people followed our public market research, made their own trading decisions, and later told us they had already made enough to cover the eventual program fee before they even enrolled.
But read that carefully:
THOSE ARE INDIVIDUAL OUTCOMES. NOT AN EXPECTATION.
They are not typical results.
They are not a promise.
And they are definitely not a reason to assume the program will “pay for itself.”
Your outcome will depend on things we cannot control for you:
your experience,
your discipline,
your risk management,
your capital,
your execution,
your psychology,
and the market conditions you trade in.
Two students can learn the same method, look at the same market and still produce completely different results.
So Kohnut does not sell the idea that you should copy someone else's outcome.
We teach the framework.
We show the research.
We show how it is applied.
What you do with it — and how well you do it — remains your responsibility.
THE RESULTS ABOVE SHOW WHAT HAS BEEN POSSIBLE FOR SOME PEOPLE.
THEY ARE NOT A PROMISE OF WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU.
Some students progress quickly.
Some take much longer.
Some struggle.
Some eventually decide trading is not for them.
And some produce exceptional results.
That is precisely why we show individual cases rather than pretending there is one “normal” outcome.
So don't join Kohnut because somebody else recovered their course fee in two weeks.
Join because you are willing to learn the research properly and find out what you can do with it.
THEIR RESULT IS THEIR STORY.
YOURS STILL HAS TO BE EARNED.
WHY DON’T YOU OFFER A NO-QUESTIONS-ASKED REFUND?+
Because Kohnut cannot be fairly judged by someone who watched a fraction of the material, tried it twice, and walked away.
We ask something from you first:
Do the work.
Attend or review the classes.
Study the material.
Apply the methods as they were taught.
Keep records of what you did.
Give yourself enough time to actually test the process.
Then, if you genuinely believe it did not deliver what was promised:
SHOW US.
Bring us the coursework, charts, notes, trade records or other reasonable evidence showing that you actually applied the methodology.
We are not afraid of someone challenging the program after doing the work.
That is exactly the kind of person we want.
What we do not offer is a casual refund for someone who consumes the training, does little or nothing with it, and then simply changes their mind.
So the principle is simple:
DO THE WORK.
KEEP THE EVIDENCE.
CHALLENGE THE METHOD.
If you did what was asked and genuinely believe it failed to deliver what was promised, talk to us. We will review the case fairly.
For discretionary refunds that are approved, actual non-recoverable card, payment and processing costs may be deducted where permitted, typically around 5% of the original payment.
Any rights you have under applicable consumer law remain unaffected.
YOU’VE SEEN WHAT WE TEACH.
You’ve seen the research.
You’ve seen the timestamps.
You’ve seen the students.
You’ve seen the results.
You’ve seen why Kohnut exists.
And you’ve seen what we are willing to admit we cannot guarantee.
So we’re not going to ask you to believe us.
DON’T BELIEVE US.
COME AND LOOK FOR YOURSELF.
See the dates.
See the charts.
See how Price and Time come together.
Question the methodology.
Challenge the research.
And then make up your own mind.

Kohnut Predictive Science provides market education and research.
Nothing on this website, within our webinars, classes, membership platform, community, live trading sessions, events or other materials should be interpreted as personalised financial advice or as an instruction for you to buy, sell or hold any particular financial product.
Kohnut discusses markets, research methodologies, historical examples, forecasts and trading observations for educational and research purposes.
You remain responsible for your own financial and trading decisions.
TRADING INVOLVES RISK
Trading and investing involve risk.
Markets can move against you, forecasts can be wrong, and losses — including significant losses of capital — are possible.
Different traders may experience completely different outcomes even when studying the same methodology or looking at the same market.
Your results may be affected by factors including your experience, capital, risk management, position sizing, execution, psychology and prevailing market conditions.
You should consider your own circumstances and, where appropriate, seek advice from a suitably qualified professional before making financial decisions.
LIVE TRADING & MAX'S PERSONAL TRADES
From time to time, Max may share markets he is personally watching, positions he has taken, trading decisions he has made, or trades being managed in real time.
These are shared for educational, research and transparency purposes.
They should not be interpreted as a signal, recommendation or instruction for you to copy the trade.
Max's capital, risk tolerance, timing, objectives and personal circumstances may be completely different from yours.
Whether you choose to participate in any market or trade is entirely your own decision.
PAST PERFORMANCE & STUDENT RESULTS
Past performance does not guarantee future results.
Student testimonials, account screenshots, trading outcomes and case studies shown on this website represent the experiences of specific individuals.
They should not be interpreted as typical results, expected results or a guarantee that another person will achieve the same outcome.
Some students have reported achieving substantial results in relatively short periods of time.
Others have taken considerably longer, produced different outcomes, struggled with implementation or decided trading was not suitable for them.
Where screenshots or trading results have been supplied directly by students, they may not have been independently audited by Kohnut.
THE RESULTS SHOWN REPRESENT WHAT HAPPENED TO THOSE INDIVIDUALS — NOT WHAT WILL NECESSARILY HAPPEN TO YOU.
RESEARCH, FORECASTS & MARKET PREDICTIONS
Kohnut studies markets using a range of approaches including Price Analysis, Time Analysis, market cycles, Financial Astrology, dimensions, harmonics, geometry and other research methodologies.
The research continues to evolve.
Market forecasts, timing windows, research observations and historical examples represent the methodologies and interpretations being studied by Kohnut at the time.
FORECASTS CAN BE WRONG.
A successful historical observation or forecast does not mean the same relationship will necessarily repeat in the future.
Nothing presented by Kohnut should be interpreted as a guarantee that a future price movement, market event or trading outcome will occur.
We encourage students and members of the public to examine our historical posts, timestamps, forecasts and methodology for themselves.
Financial Astrology studies recurring planetary and lunar cycles and asks whether certain timing relationships repeatedly coincide with meaningful periods in market behaviour.
The question is not:
“DID A PLANET CAUSE THE MARKET TO MOVE?”
The question is:
CAN THE TIMING BE IDENTIFIED IN ADVANCE — THEN TESTED AGAINST THE MARKET?
YOU DON'T HAVE TO BELIEVE IT.
YOU CAN TEST THE DATES.
SIMPLE EXAMPLE — LUNAR TIMING
Consider Bitcoin during early 2021:
13 MAR 2021
13 APR 2021
11 MAY 2021
The black markers on the chart represent the lunar timing points used in this study.
During this period, Bitcoin experienced extreme optimism, FOMO and major market turning behaviour.
By 19 May 2021, Bitcoin had fallen sharply toward the $30,000 area.
But this does not mean:
“LUNAR DATE = SELL.”
That would be far too simplistic.
The purpose is to study whether recurring lunar timing points repeatedly coincide with meaningful market decisions.
THE DATE CAN BE KNOWN FIRST. THE MARKET CONFIRMS OR REJECTS IT LATER.

FINANCIAL ASTROLOGY GOES MUCH DEEPER
Lunar timing is only one approach.
Other areas can include:
Planetary Cycles

Different techniques.
Same fundamental question:
WHEN?
You do not need to understand every planet, chart or astrological technique to begin.
One relationship is enough to start testing the idea.

A CURIOUS EXAMPLE — HUMAN BEHAVIOUR
DO TIMING CYCLES ONLY MATTER IN MARKETS?
On 10 June 2025, a human-sized Labubu sold at auction for approximately US$150,000, attracting international attention.
The timing caught our attention because it occurred around a lunar period we were already studying.
Like most retail traders starting out, he began with what was readily available:
Candlesticks.
Indicators.
Chart patterns.
Traditional technical analysis.
At first, the idea seemed simple.
Learn enough.
Find the right strategy.
Become consistent.
Eventually achieve financial freedom.
That was the dream.
THE REALITY WAS VERY DIFFERENT.
Max studied.
He traded.
And he lost money.
So he studied more.
Tried another strategy.
Bought another course.
And lost money again.
Over the years, Max would eventually go through roughly five different trading programmes, repeatedly believing that the next one might finally contain whatever piece he was missing.
Some taught him useful ideas.
Others simply sent him searching for another answer.
MAX WASN'T LOSING BECAUSE HE WASN'T TRYING.
He learned the indicators.
The patterns.
Support and resistance.
Potential price targets.
He understood how traders analysed price.
Yet year after year, the results still weren't there.
The losses accumulated.
So did the frustration.
Every new strategy created another burst of hope:
MAYBE THIS ONE WOULD FINALLY WORK.
Then the cycle would begin again.
STUDY.
TRADE.
LOSE.
SEARCH AGAIN.
Looking back, those years taught Max something uncomfortable:
KNOWING MORE DOESN'T ALWAYS MEAN UNDERSTANDING MORE.
At the time, Max wasn't thinking about Financial Astrology.
He wasn't thinking about Dimension Analysis.
He wasn't using Optuma.
None of the methods that would later become part of Kohnut existed in his work yet.
He was simply another retail trader trying to understand why, despite years of effort
HE STILL COULDN'T MAKE TRADING WORK CONSISTENTLY.
And while Max was still searching for answers in the markets, another completely unrelated part of his life was beginning to teach him something that would matter years later:
HOW TO RESEARCH A PROBLEM.
2014–2016
RESEARCH, PERTH & THE PLAN THAT DIDN'T WORK
While trading remained a personal obsession, another side of Max's life was quietly developing.
From around 2014, he began working on a part-time/project basis as an outsourced research contractor supporting LYNK Global.
He coordinated research assignments involving Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, including projects commissioned through LYNK by professional firms such as L.E.K. Consulting and EY.
None of this had anything to do with trading.
But it exposed Max to a very different way of solving problems:
Gather information.
Find the right specialists.
Compare different perspectives.
Question assumptions.
Research before reaching conclusions.
WITHOUT REALISING IT, MAX WAS DEVELOPING HABITS THAT WOULD LATER SHAPE HOW HE APPROACHED MARKETS.
Around 2015–2016, Max moved to Perth to complete his degree.
Even while studying in Australia, he continued coordinating some of his LYNK projects remotely.
At the time, Australia felt like it might become the beginning of something bigger.
Finish the degree.
Find work.
Build a career.
Stay in Australia.
That was the plan.
THEN THE PLAN FELL APART.
After graduating, there was no clear employment route waiting for him.
And Max had not properly planned the visa pathway that would allow him to remain in Australia.
What he had imagined as the beginning of a new life suddenly had an expiry date.
So in 2016, Max returned to Singapore.
Not with the career he had imagined.
Not with financial freedom.
But with debt, years of trading losses behind him — and no clear idea what came next.
2016–2018
SURVIVAL MODE
Returning to Singapore in 2016 was not the homecoming Max had imagined.
He was in debt.
Years of trading had cost him money instead of creating the financial freedom he had been chasing.
His Australian plan had fallen apart.
His career direction was unclear.
And he needed income.
NOW.
So Max started driving Uber.
Later, Grab.
There was no entrepreneurial master plan behind it.
He needed to survive.
What began out of necessity, however, became unexpectedly important.
Driving gave Max income when he badly needed it.
It helped him begin dealing with the debt.
It allowed him to continue accepting LYNK research projects when they came.
And it gave him enough breathing room to keep trading, studying and trying to figure out what came next.
For a period, Max's life became a strange mixture of:
Research projects.
Passengers.
Trading charts.
Debt.
Trading courses.
Long hours.
And a lot of uncertainty.
Some days, he was coordinating professional research projects involving companies across Asia.
Then he would get back into the car and drive passengers around Singapore.
At night, the charts were still there.
So was the dream of financial freedom.
IT WASN'T GLAMOROUS.
But looking back, Max sees those years differently.
UBER AND GRAB WERE NEVER PART OF THE DREAM.
BUT WHEN HE NEEDED A WAY FORWARD, THEY GAVE HIM ONE.
They gave him income.
They gave him breathing room.
Most importantly—
THEY BOUGHT HIM TIME.
And sometimes, when you still haven't found the answer, time is exactly what you need.
By 2018, Max had spent almost ten years trying to make trading work.
He had learned the indicators.
Taken the courses.
Studied the charts.
Lost money.
Gotten back up.
And kept searching.
Then something happened that would completely change the direction of that search.
SOMEONE STOOD ON A STAGE AND SAID THE WORDS MAX HAD BEEN WAITING YEARS TO HEAR:
“I KNOW HOW TO TIME THE MARKET.”
2018
THE PROMISE OF TIME
By 2018, Max had spent almost ten years trying to make trading work.
Years of charts.
Years of courses.
Years of losses.
And still the same feeling:
SOMETHING WAS MISSING.
That year, Max attended a Success Resources event.
It was where he met the woman who would later become his wife.
It was also where he heard something from the stage that immediately stopped him in his tracks.
A trading educator said he knew how to time the market — and that he could teach others how.
For almost ten years, Max had been asking:
WHERE WILL PRICE GO?
Suddenly, somebody was talking about:
WHEN?
Could important market dates actually be identified?
Could turning points be anticipated before the market reached them?
The idea hit Max so strongly that he got out of his seat and went straight to sign up during the event.
After almost a decade of struggling, he thought:
MAYBE THIS IS IT.
MAYBE I'VE FINALLY FOUND WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR.
But an important distinction needs to be made.
Max was not introduced there to Financial Astrology, Dimension Analysis, Optuma, planetary techniques, harmonics or the research frameworks he uses today.
The idea that captured his attention was much simpler:
MARKETS MIGHT BE TIMED.
That was enough.
THEN THE REALITY LOOKED VERY DIFFERENT.
Max bought the programme.
Then he bought the additional programmes and upsells too — because he still believed the answer was coming.
He kept showing up.
Kept paying.
Kept trying to learn.
Yet from Max's experience, the one subject that had drawn him in from the beginning —
TIME TRADING —
was never actually taught in the way he had been led to expect.
So Max began trying to understand the subject for himself.
He started researching.
Testing ideas.
Asking questions.
Trying to become the good student who could finally understand the craft.
And then came the part that changed everything.
IMAGINE THIS.
You pay someone because he says he can teach you how to time the market.
You buy the additional programmes.
The subject never really arrives.
So you start researching it yourself.
And then the person you paid to learn from accuses you of stealing his work and threatens legal action.
For Max, that contradiction was impossible to ignore.
By December 2018, the relationship had deteriorated into personal accusations, insults directed at Max and his family, and threats of legal action.
THIS ONE BECAME PERSONAL.
After nearly ten years of losses, courses and searching for someone else to provide the answer—
IT BECAME THE FINAL STRAW.
Max realised he could spend another ten years waiting for another guru to hand him the answer.
Or he could take responsibility for finding it himself.
STOP SEARCHING FOR ANOTHER GURU.
START DOING THE RESEARCH.
If markets really could be timed...
HE WOULD TRY TO FIND OUT HOW FOR HIMSELF.
2018
AND THEN... MASTERCHEF?
As if 2018 wasn't already strange enough, another completely different path opened.
While Max was trying to figure out trading, research, work and generally what he was supposed to do with his life...
he somehow made it into the:
TOP 18 OF MASTERCHEF SINGAPORE — SEASON 1.
YES. THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED.
At the time, Max was still genuinely trying to figure out where he belonged.
Trading had frustrated him for years.
Uber and Grab were keeping him afloat.
Research projects came and went.
And now, suddenly, there was another possibility:
MAYBE FOOD WAS THE ANSWER?
For a while, Max seriously wondered whether F&B might actually be his calling.
And to be fair...
he wasn't completely terrible at it.
Cooking gave Max something markets rarely did at the time:
MAKE SOMETHING.
PUT IT ON A PLATE.
KNOW WHETHER IT WORKED.
No indicators.
No waiting for the next candle.
No arguing with the market.
Just food.
But eventually, it became clear that the kitchen wasn't where Max's long-term obsession was heading.
The question that refused to leave him was still the same one that had grabbed his attention earlier that year:
COULD MARKETS REALLY BE STUDIED THROUGH TIME?
MasterChef became another strange chapter in a life that still had no clear direction.
There was no carefully designed career plan.
Max was experimenting.
Getting things wrong.
Trying different directions.
One path briefly led into a kitchen.
THE OTHER WAS ABOUT TO TURN INTO YEARS OF RESEARCH.
LATE 2018–MARCH 2019
STOP SEARCHING. START RESEARCHING.
After everything that happened in 2018, Max's approach to trading changed.
For years, the question had been:
“WHO CAN TEACH ME THE ANSWER?”
Now it became:
“HOW CAN I TEST THIS MYSELF?”
Max began researching market timing independently.
He was still taking LYNK projects.
Still driving when necessary.
Still trading.
But increasingly, his spare time went into trying to understand one question:
CAN IMPORTANT MARKET DATES
BE IDENTIFIED BEFORE PRICE GETS THERE?
This is where the work that would eventually become Kohnut began to separate completely from the programme that first introduced Max to the idea of timing markets.
Financial Astrology, Dimension Analysis, Optuma, harmonics, planetary methods and the research frameworks Max uses today were not taught in that programme.
Those came later — through Max's own research.
Those came later.
From Max's own research.
He began exploring ideas from completely different sources:
Cycles.
Geometry.
Mathematics.
Harmonics.
Planetary relationships.
Price and time.
Historical market methods.
Modern analytical tools.
Some ideas went nowhere.
Some looked promising at first and later failed completely.
Others opened entirely new directions.
And that process taught Max something important:
RESEARCH ISN'T ABOUT PROVING YOU ARE RIGHT.
IT IS ABOUT FINDING OUT WHERE YOU ARE WRONG.
Instead of accepting an idea because someone sounded confident, Max started asking:
Can it be tested?
Can it be repeated?
Can the date be identified beforehand?
What happens when it fails?
The work was still rough.
No polished Kohnut framework.
No finished system.
No giant community.
Just a growing body of research — and a question Max couldn't walk away from.
MAYBE THE ANSWER WASN'T ONE SECRET METHOD.
MAYBE IT HAD TO BE BUILT.
Then, in early 2019, an opportunity appeared that Max had been waiting years for.
On 25 March 2019, he believed the door into the professional trading world had finally opened.
25 MARCH 2019–2021
THE FIRST PROFESSIONAL BREAK
On 25 March 2019, Max believed he had finally entered the trading world professionally.
We don't have to reconstruct how he felt years later.
He posted it that very day:
“Today marks the first day of me entering the trading world professionally.”
After more than ten years around markets — losses, courses, debt, Grab/Uber and independent research — this felt like a genuine breakthrough.
Max joined Pareto, believing he finally had a doorway into the professional trading industry.
THEN EVERYTHING CHANGED.
In 2020, Singapore's Commercial Affairs Department investigated the business.
The office was raided.
By 2021, the case had entered the public spotlight and criminal charges had been announced.
MAX WAS NEVER CHARGED WITH ANY OFFENCE IN RELATION TO THE SCHEME.
NO COURT FINDING OF WRONGDOING WAS MADE AGAINST HIM IN THIS MATTER.
Years later, a Singapore court convicted one of the company's senior figures of multiple offences relating to the investment scheme.
BUT SOMETHING ELSE STAYED WITH MAX.
By then, he had already spent more than 10 years around retail trading.
He wasn't completely new.
He had traded.
Bought courses.
Studied markets.
Worked around research.
And he still found himself walking into something far more serious than he understood at the time.
And that was the part that made Max angry.
Because if someone with more than a decade around markets could still walk into a situation like this—
WHAT CHANCE DOES A COMPLETE BEGINNER HAVE?
There is endless education teaching retail traders how to trade.
Far less teaches them how to ask:
Is the firm regulated — and by whom?
Who actually holds the client's money?
Where are the trades being executed?
Can the performance be independently verified?
Max had now seen first-hand how badly things could go.
And it changed the way he wanted to build his own career.
DON'T JUST TRUST THE RESULT.
QUESTION HOW IT WAS PRODUCED.
It is one reason Kohnut became so focused on timestamps and evidence.
Show the forecast.
Show when it was published.
Then let the market prove or disprove it.
PUBLISH FIRST.
LET THE MARKET ANSWER.
IF MAX WAS GOING TO BUILD A CAREER IN FINANCE,
HE WANTED TO DO IT THROUGH THE REGULATED ROUTE.
Not because regulation makes every problem impossible.
But after what Max had seen, oversight, accountability and proper financial structures mattered differently to him.
This wasn't a marketing position.
IT CAME FROM EXPERIENCE.
And while one professional chapter was collapsing...
another was about to begin with just 20 people.
2021–2023
KOHNUT STARTS WITH 20 PEOPLE
While one professional chapter was collapsing, another was beginning.
In 2021, Max took years of independent research and turned it into something other people could finally experience.
The first Kohnut Time Trading intake began with just:
20 STUDENTS.
No big company.
No giant marketing machine.
No polished international brand.
Just Max, years of research, and a small group willing to explore the ideas with him.
For someone who had spent so many years searching for answers himself, this felt different.
The research was no longer sitting only inside Max's own charts.
Other people were now:
Testing it.
Questioning it.
Learning it.
Challenging it.
And that mattered.
Because if the ideas only worked when Max looked at them, they weren't good enough.
They had to survive other people's questions too.
THEN SOMETHING UNEXPECTED HAPPENED.
One of Max's early students was working within an MAS-regulated financial institution in Singapore and became interested in Max's research.
That relationship eventually opened another professional door.
By 2022, Max was serving professionally as an appointed representative of an MAS-regulated financial institution in Singapore.
For someone whose first attempt to enter the professional trading world had ended so badly, this mattered.
THIS TIME, MAX WAS DELIBERATELY CHOOSING THE REGULATED PATH.
And for the first time, many of the strange pieces from the previous decade began to connect.
The research background.
The years of trading failure.
The independent market work.
The hard lessons from the industry.
The first 20 Kohnut students.
What had once looked like completely unrelated chapters were starting to form a real career.
THEN THE MOMENTUM STARTED BUILDING.
Max's brokerage business grew.
His client trading volume grew.
His professional network expanded.
What started with 20 people gradually grew into larger classes, events and a real community.
The important part wasn't simply that the numbers grew.
Something Max had once researched alone was now being studied, questioned and applied by other people.
What had begun as one person's attempt to understand why he kept getting markets wrong...
was becoming something much bigger than himself.
FROM ONE PERSON SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS...
TO A COMMUNITY SEARCHING TOGETHER.
For the first time in years, Max was no longer asking:
“WHERE IS THIS ALL GOING?”
He was beginning to see an answer.
Then, in 2024, another opportunity appeared.
And strangely enough...
it would take him back to the same country he had once been forced to leave.
2024–CURRENT
AUSTRALIA CALLS AGAIN
Then came 2024.
Eight years earlier, Max had left Australia and returned to Singapore with:
Debt.
Years of trading losses.
No clear employment route.
No properly planned visa pathway.
And very little idea where his life was heading.
And importantly—
HE DIDN'T LEAVE AUSTRALIA BECAUSE HE WAS READY TO.
There was no clear job waiting for him after graduation, and Max had failed to properly plan a visa pathway that would allow him to remain.
So in 2016, he had little practical choice but to return to Singapore and start again.
Back then, Australia represented a plan that hadn't worked out.
This time, everything was different.
After years of rebuilding, independent research, Kohnut, institutional work and growth within the brokerage industry, another opportunity appeared.
Max was given the chance to take the next step professionally with a UK/Australian financial institution.
Australia was no longer somewhere he was desperately trying to find a way to stay.
HIS CAREER WAS NOW TAKING HIM THERE.
BUT FIRST, THERE WAS GOODBYE.
Before leaving Singapore, Max held a farewell gathering.
Students came.
Friends came.
People from the Kohnut community who had watched the journey develop came.
But there was something else about that gathering that made the moment particularly meaningful.
Among the people there were also professional figures from both sides of Max's transition — including his boss from the MAS-regulated financial chapter in Singapore and a senior figure connected to his next professional chapter in Australia.
In one room were pieces of a life that, only a few years earlier, had seemed completely unrelated:
The students.
The community.
The research.
The regulated financial career.
And the opportunity that was about to take Max back to Australia.
For someone who had returned from Perth in 2016 unsure of what came next...
THIS WAS A VERY DIFFERENT KIND OF DEPARTURE.
14 FEBRUARY 2024 — VALENTINE'S DAY
Max packed up his life in Singapore and moved back to Australia.
The irony was difficult to miss.
THE FIRST TIME MAX LEFT AUSTRALIA,
HE WAS SEARCHING FOR A WAY FORWARD.
EIGHT YEARS LATER,
THE CAREER HE BUILT BROUGHT HIM BACK.
The first time, he left with debt and uncertainty.
This time, he arrived because of his professional career.
Looking back, none of the journey followed a straight line.
Retail trading losses.
Research projects & Perth.
Debt, Uber & Grab.
MasterChef.
The promise of market timing.
Conflict & independent research.
A professional break that went badly wrong.
20 students.
A regulated financial career.
A growing community.
None of those pieces looked connected while Max was living through them.
EVENTUALLY, THEY WERE.
FROM SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS...
TO BUILDING HIS OWN RESEARCH.
Today, Max continues to work professionally within the financial industry in Australia, while continuing his market research and coaching the students already inside Kohnut.
And for new students who choose to begin their own journey through Kohnut...
THIS MAY BE WHERE THEIR PART OF THE STORY BEGINS.
Underneath everything is still the question that changed the direction of Max's life back in 2018:
WHAT IF MARKETS CAN BE STUDIED THROUGH TIME?
The difference now is simple.
MAX NO LONGER WAITS FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO HAND HIM THE ANSWER.
